Recently I read a blog post that spoke life into words were a series of memories started to live again. It was about those darn red flags and how they got ignored for some ‘why.’ Also, this post mentions holes we see in others. Guess what? We all have holes. I have holes too.
Jeesh, sounds heavy, right? I felt that way, too, until I learned that your story gets lighter once it’s shared…that’s the purpose of this post.
Putting “it” into perspective
This may be a big ask to make this post short; let’s give it a try, shall we?
Let this “it” be qualities within yourself. Your:
- – tenacity
- – persistence
- – hopes
- – intuition
- – …you get the picture.
In your (un)conscious ability to want to get to know someone, you may get that nudge to take the relationship to a different level.
This is where listening to your inner voice comes in. Take some time to self-reflect. What is your gut saying to you? Do you feel you can fill that hole in someone else? Or do you feel the nudge to help them to identify and fill the hole(s)?
How do you do such a thing? That’s a BIG job!!
Along the way, you find you have similar holes – that’s a post for another day.
I digress.
First of all, give yourself some grace! You are not powerful enough to fill the hole(s) in other people or in yourself. Although, your efforts of doing so are enough to get credit for your efforts.
Enter God
You’ve heard the song, with the following lyrics “My God is so big and so strong and so mighty. There’s nothing My God cannot do.” Right?
He’s the One for this job!
In His mighty plan for your life and theirs, and your belief in Him is part of this hole-filling journey. The rest is up to the person with the holes, they have work to do.
It’s their job to accept the responsibility and to do that work…but never alone. It’s a tandem job. It may be with you & God working with them or just them and God.
Follow your gut!
Along the way, you can fill your holes too.
Start by doing some self-reflection, take those qualities (mentioned above) and shift your focus onto yourself and work with God on it. He’s not too busy for you.
Grab this gratitude journal before you leave! And let your memories live again.
Have a great day!
