HUH? What type of title is that? Yes, an awareness is an awareness first, it’s like something being pointed out to you that doesn’t call you to do anything…it’s just information. Think of it as a color in a landscape; it’s either interesting to you or it’s not. If it’s an exciting thing, typically curiosity grows. When that curiosity grows it’s your choice to lean in and gather more information. Until then, awareness is what it is.
Let’s go a little deeper, shall we?
Every month, at least in my country of origin, there’s at least one National * something* Awareness month.
The month of November has multiple, however, there are two that I’m choosing to lean into here: National Adoption Awareness month and National Diabetes Awareness month.
Why these two focuses?
Both of these are incorporated into my life and they are big parts of “my why” in life. They involve family.
Being an adoptive mama that has diabetes, not only do I choose to live life this way, I HAVE to. Mind you this “have to” isn’t burdensome to me however it can be…it’s a matter of mindset & perspective. (More on these are coming, stay tuned.)
One was chosen and one was given
Being a personal growth coach, there’s a level of curiosity that goes unspoken.
Adoption as a means to grow my family was a choice. Diabetes, on the other hand, is not a choice, it was given. Both require a deep dive session on how to live a purposeful life within these awarenesses, it requires a willingness to adjust your lifestyle and mindset. Both require awareness, discernment, and balance.
Not everyone is going to understand or is willing to make accommodations, this is where grace on your part comes in.
On a personal note, both of these are infiltrated into the family unit which is important to me. If I can’t care for myself, I can’t take care of my family no matter the size.
(FYI, more on these awarenesses are coming…I hope you stay tuned.)
Something for you…
As far as your aspect of family is concerned, I’m inviting you to take a free life balance test, click here. Note: this assessment asks questions about seven areas of life I can personally coach you through.
When you are ready to take steps to improve what you can do, let’s talk.
Again an awareness is an awareness first. I encourage you to lean into one so you can grow and live a more purposeful life.
I’m here to support you! You got this!
