My flower garden journey started when I was married after we bought our first home. I did the best I could to emulate what I learned from my late grandfather’s garden and it turned into a passion project.
Pretty soon, passersby would compliment how the front of our house looked ‘the best it ever has” which made me feel good about my efforts. However, I didn’t continue for the accolades. I tended the gardens because it was my place to process the day’s events and to ground myself too.
Over time, I learned about each season’s plant, bush, and flower. It was a way for me to shift my focus to problems outside of my control or to get a better understanding of new information.

It was the place where Jesus called my name and where I learned what His message was for me on a deeper level.

In the garden as I’m pulling weeds out by their roots, He would whisper Truths I’ve longed to understand better. The more weeds I’d remove, the more blooms I’d get after the fact in several aspects of my life.
For most of my life I thought He didn’t love me for me; little did I know His Love is deeper than any weed (or lie) can penetrate. I learned He is in the protection business and has sustained me through heartaches, confusion, injuries, medical diagnoses of members of my family and myself, the adoption of my son, my divorce and so much more. He is a good, good Father!
Call them God-winks or divine intervention, I’ve been able to look back only to see God’s hand in all of this and even more so since then. I’m forever grateful for Him!
It was then that my personal growth and development journey turned from “hobby” to serious in addition to gardening.
That, my friend, is why I’m here.
Because I am one person and cannot come and tend your gardens too, I invite you to lean into what I feel called to help with – personal growth and flower gardening.
Want to hear more, I’d love to have you. By giving me your email address, I have a tool I use to keep my head in the game of life, what I call, My Gentle Journal.
Have a great day!
